1. Park Ou Caves
Situated in the North of Luang Prabang, you
can take a boat along the Mekong River and discover hundreds of Buddha sculptures
with different shapes and arrangement, including reclining, meditation,
teaching, etc.
2. Pha That Luang
Being one of the most important monuments
in Laos destinations, Pha That Luang built in the 16th century and
reconstructed in 1931 by the French. It has many terraces with different
representing Buddhist enlightenments.
3. Plain of Jars
The mysterious plain of jars in Xieng
Khuang always attracts visitors when coming to Laos. Clusters of jars from a single,
a few or several ones scattering around the huge area.
4. Si Phan Don
Another name of 4000 islands, Si Phan Don
set an epic sight of Mekong River in the Southern Laos. Don Det, Don Khon and Done Kong are three main
part of Si Phan Don. Not only the untouched landscapes but also the endangered
Irrawaddy Dolphins here await travelers to discover, especially the adventurous
hunters.
5. Vang Vieng
The river town Vang Vieng with the karst
hill surroundings and a wide range of excursions is always a must to visit in
South Laos. Take a jeep tour in Vang Vieng, float or kayak along the Nam Song River, or simply
visit local villages to know their deliberate daily life.
6. Mekong River
The only land-locked country in Southeast
Asia, Laos has the spectacular view of Mekong River. Take a Wat Phou cruise to
experience the most stunning voyages on the waterways.
7. Wat Xieng Thong
Built by King Setthathirath in 1560, Wat
Xieng Thong is one of the most magnificent temples in Luang Prabang with scared
Buddha statues.
8. Luang Prabang
No doubt that Luang Prabang is one of the
most charming cities in Southeast Asia. The alms giving in early morning
attracts visitors to witness, not only the process of ritual but also the long
Laos culture. French buildings, wooden houses and golden-roofed temples fill
the alluring Luang Prabang.
