With layers of stalactites and magic lights, the splendor of Thien Cung Grotto, the most beautiful cave in northern Vietnam attracts hundreds of visitors at home and abroad.
Thien Cung Grotto is located in the southwest of Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh), away 4 km from the cruise ship port, on the island of Dau Do at 25 m height above the sea level.
Through a narrow crack in the door, the heart of the grotto suddenly opens up the quadrangular space above with the length of more than 130 m. The beauty of grotto is splendid created by layers of stalactites.
On the east wall, there is a massive epic picture emerged as the characters in fairy tales. They are soft, smooth and extremely delicate in every detail. Whether the sculpture blocks are massive or tiny, they are meticulously polished by the creator.
Thien Cung Grotto is associated with the ancient legend of the Dragon King. Namely, "after the Dragon King helped people defeat the enemies, the Dragon King returned to his cave. In that year, there was a severe drought. As a result, there were crop failures and many people prayed the Dragon King to save them. Many people went without a return date. No fear of dangers, a young couple was determined to seek the Dragon King. Their daughter was born. Her name was May.
May grow up and was so beautiful that the Dragon Prince loved. The wedding was held for 7 days and 7 nights in the center of the cave. To celebrate the wedding, dragons not only flied at the time but also hidden in the clouds of stalactites, the elephant babies danced, pythons wrapped around big old banyan trees, two stone lions danced, eagles outstretched their giant wings. A large elephant decorated elaborately lied to wait the bride and the groom walking down. Nam Tao and Bac Dao took part in the party. The scene was extremely noisy ".
The center of the grotto has four huge pillars. From the foot to the top of the column is embossed with many strange shapes like fish birds, scenes of human life, and floral branches. On the north wall of the cave, there is a group of fairies dancing to congratulate the wedding.
Under the arches, clusters of colorful stalactites are decumbent forming splendor natural stone curtains.
To the final section of the cave, the colorful lights create a magnificent scenery. A natural ravine flows murmuring during four seasons. Also, there are three ponds with clean water. According to the legend, they are the places where May often bathed her 100 children and raised them. One path leading to the outside is winding which is the way that she and 50 children went to explore new lands while the rest went with her husband build the motherland. The relics that she left were her breasts full of vitality.

The exit door is narrow and deep.
