Phu Quoc tourism has not only the blue sea, white sand, sunshine but also the clear streams between the green forests. In particular, Da Ban Spring, Phu Quoc is fascinating with the unique appearance of the flat stone plates as large tables, layers of stone overlapping each other to the upstream.

Origin of the name of the stream

Da Ban Phu Quoc (literally, Stone Table) Stream is an ideal place to visit in Phu Quoc, located in the north of the pearl island. Visitors who hear the name of the stream for the first time can feel very strange, but it seems that in the strange, there is also something familiar by the name is quite rustic.

The name "Da Ban Stream" makes the first- time listeners feel curious. Why is it called Da Ban Spring? The reason why the stream has that name is because this area has the large and flat stones like the table surface, so people here call it Da Ban (Stone Table) Spring. Legend has it that, these stones were where the fairies usually sit and bathed each time they go to the Earth. Phu Quoc is famous for its 99 mountains extending from north to south, in which Ham Ninh is the longest and highest mountain range. Da Ban Stream is originated from here.

Experiencing and relaxing in Da Ban Stream

This area is still boldly primitive, mainly because the visitors coming to the stream are mainly local people and young people who love to explore nature to find a picnic during the day. In front of the entrance to the stream, there is a small port marked "Da Ban Phu Quoc Tourist Area", you will leave your vehicles here, walk through the cable-stayed bridge, then continue for about 15 minutes to reach the stream.

Originated from Ham Ninh mountain range, Da Ban Phu Quoc Stream has a long journey through the mountains and forests before settling downstream. The stream is not steep, but it keeps on flowing to the endless, flowing through the undulating stone tables which are meticulously polished by the "the water artist”. The higher we go, the more spacious the area around Da Ban Phu Quoc Spring is, the two sides of the spring are embraced by green forest. The small waterfalls, pools gather and form an area with moderate depth, which becomes the ideal cool place to bathe in the wild nature.

In the dry season, the stream is gentle with low water level, you can easily roam in the middle of the stream, watch the fun rock works. In the rainy season, the stream and Da Ban Phu Quoc waterfall become strong, flow fast with white foam.

Da Ban Spring with large flat stones is very suitable for visitors to go camping, place food, drink to have a party. You can bathe in the cool blue water under the crashing waterfall, which is really fun. Generally, visitors stop at the flat rock to play, so few people take the hard way to see the highest waterfall here, because it is a little risky. Coming to Da Ban Spring to rainy season, you must be very careful to avoid slipping down because the water here at that time is very deep and powerful.

To enjoy a picnic and explore Da Ban Phu Quoc spring more fully, you can buy some food, favorite drink in advance and bring here. Or, near the entrance to the stream, there are also a few small local people's shops selling chicken porridge, chicken salad, chicken eggs, fried spring rolls, boiled peanuts, soft drinks, there are even seafood and fruit in tourist season, so you can order items before entering the stream, the staff will bring you to the stream area to enjoy.
